Back To All Sycamore Tree

“More to life”

Ebe* knew that a life of crime and prison was not right. Taking part in the Sycamore Tree course helped, and gave him the confidence to turn his life around. He shares what happened:

“Since I was a young I never really listened to my mum or my family. I always did what I wanted to and started to mix with the wrong crowd by going out committing crime just to get money. These actions put me in prison. I did not really care about anyone else but myself.

“As I got older I realised there is more to life than going out and committing crime for money, like getting a job and supporting my family. In prison I have taken the Sycamore Tree course and I feel it has really changed me, how I see and do things. I want to get out of here (prison) and start afresh, put all of the bad things in the past and look forward to the future.

“I have asked my family if they will forgive me for all the bad things I have done in the past and give me one more chance. I want to prove to them all I’m a changed man and I love them. My thanks goes to the Chaplaincy team for getting me on the course, helping me change my life around.”

“I can honestly say that I never had as much satisfaction when I worked as I do now as a volunteer.” — Arthur, Chaplaincy Support volunteer

Volunteer with PF

Volunteers are the life-blood of our organisation, and what they do in the lives of those in prison and as they pray, is incredibly valuable. If you are looking to use your time to support some of the most marginalised people in our society to transform their lives, then volunteering could be for you.
