BIBLE STUDY: Nothing can separate us from the love of God – 8th November 2020

Lockdown has had a profound impact on prisoners, with men and women unable to gather in chapels, and locked in their cells for most of each 24 hour period.

In light of this, we are very pleased to have been asked by HMPPS Chaplaincy Headquarters to provide prisoners with a weekly Bible Study for the next six months. These will be available across all prisons in England and Wales.

Each week, the Bible Study will take a short passage from Scripture and encourage prisoners to reflect on and engage with the text in different ways. They are being produced by an experienced group of PF volunteers, who are working hard to ensure that the sheets are thought-provoking and full of hope.

The first Bible Study is inspired by Paul’s letter to the Romans. It reminds readers to be confident in the enduring nature of God’s love.

Supporters and Volunteers can stand with prisoners by also receiving the Bible Studies into their inbox each week. You can use the materials as a focal point for prayer in your church or group, or simply for private reflection.

If you’d like to do this then you can sign up using the link below. We hope you will find this series of Bible Studies inspiring and helpful.

Please pray for the men and women making use of the Bible Studies in prisons, that this resource will nourish their spiritual lives and help their walk of faith.

“I can honestly say that I never had as much satisfaction when I worked as I do now as a volunteer.” — Arthur, Chaplaincy Support volunteer

Volunteer with PF

Volunteers are the life-blood of our organisation, and what they do in the lives of those in prison and as they pray, is incredibly valuable. If you are looking to use your time to support some of the most marginalised people in our society to transform their lives, then volunteering could be for you.
