Prison Fellowship’s biennial conference has become a highlight of our calendar for many years. It is always so heart-warming to come together as a group of people with a common purpose, and to share, learn and pray with one another.
And so, while we can’t meet physically this year, we have planned a day full of worship, fellowship and fabulous speakers that we are sure you will find enjoyable and worthwhile.
Our hope is that the virtual nature of our conference this year will mean that even more of us will be able to gather. Please do spread the word to those in your local PF group.
The theme of our conference is “Every life transformed.” Join us to hear how, even in these extraordinary times, we have continued to minister to those in our prisons, and how lockdown has impacted those we serve and their families.

We are thrilled to have Bryn Haworth with us to lead our worship. He spends much of his time taking his music into prisons around England and Wales through the Music in Ministry Trust.
Dr Shona Minson is a British Academy Post Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Criminology at the University of Oxford, studying children’s rights during family reintegration after parental imprisonment. Her research on the rights of children when mothers are sentenced has influenced judicial practice and government policy.
Rev James Ridge was appointed Chaplain General in 2018, overseeing chaplaincy in our prisons. He previously served as a prison chaplain at HMP Chelmsford and HMP Wayland. James is a great friend of PF’s and we are delighted that he will be leading the prayer time at our conference.
Michael Emmett is the author of Sins of Fathers, a true story of trauma and transformation, one man’s search for redemption, and the struggle to become the father he never had.
Dr Gerard Drennan is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in training, who holds the post of Head of Psychology and Psychotherapy in the Behavioural and Developmental Psychiatric Operational Directorate of the South London and Maudsley Mental Health Foundation Trust. Since training in restorative justice conferencing in 2012, Gerard has worked and written on the place of restorative justice practices in mental health settings.
Fran Beckett is Chair of Prison Fellowship’s Board of Trustees and an accomplished voluntary sector CEO. She has served as chief executive of Shaftesbury Society (now Livability) before moving to a similar role in Church Urban Fund. She has also provided consultancy services on leadership, governance, change management, and strategic planning and mentoring services to CEOs and Chairs of Boards. We very pleased that Fran will be sharing God’s Word with us.
Peter Holloway joined Prison Fellowship as our CEO in November 2015. Peter is an experienced and talented leader with a background in industry and as Global Head of HR for an international charity. Peter is passionate about people in prison and is dedicated to strengthening and growing PF to better meet the needs of those we serve.
